Fish farming in Nigeria is now the talk of the day on a lot of blogs, but the fact remains that most farmers are uneducated and unexperienced and uninformed in this sector.

One might ask;

What is Fish Farming?
This is the cultivation of fishes irrespective of breed {tilapia or catfish etc} or scale {commercial or subsistence} for the benefit of mankind which could vary from food to source of income etc.

How can one Start a fish Farm
To be practical and straight to the poiint, all you need to start a fish farm is
1. Source of water
Most people sink boreholes or are located close to one.
Did you know that you could farm in a river using hap-pas made from net. You'd never worry about a water source.
2. Housing for the fishes e.g tanks, ponds {concrete or earthen, tarpaulin}
The tarpaulin ponds are the cheapest means of farming fishes in large quantity. Yes cheaper than tanks, concrete or even earthen ponds. Yes i farm my fishes in tarpaulin ponds.
